Why does my order require a signature?

|

I placed an order through Amazon. My tracking # AM571503954CN. My order says, “Unfortunately, China Post couldn’t complete your delivery because no one was available to sign for it. They will try again.” It showed this back on 10/31/24. Now it says my order is in New Kensington. Will I ever get my order and why does it need a signature? Just leave it at my door!

Hi Ruth,

The sender select the service that needs the recipient to sign for it. So, your local courier require s signature. As the delivery was failed, you need to contact USPS to ask for a redelivery in time.

Daisy,
Just to be clear… you are telling me the UNITED STATES POST OFFICE has my package? Then why does your tracking number tell me it was here in Rancho Cordova, CA on October 30th but is now in New Kensington. Do I call my local USPS? I’m really confused…

Does registered mail require my signature? (2 replies)

Does "Registered Mail" mean I have to give my signature when receiving delivery? Because if it does, packet won't be delivered to my mailbox, instead I have to go to the local post office to get it so that they can have my signature. Practice of requiring signatures even for small value deliveries is very inconvenient.

My order (tracking ID: AT530239420CN) on Amazon stated it needed a signature for delivery. Would it be possible to deliver without signature or pick it up from an office?

Thanks!
