Package stuck in customs at Guangzhou for 6 weeks. Seller says I have to pay duties. Is this true? I was unaware and have not been contacted.

Hi Daisy,
Thank you for the reply. My package shipped from the US on March 16 to Guangzhou where it has been held in customs since May 15. The package is clothing that I returned for a refund. I've been in contact with the receiver (the person I bought the clothes from) and they first told me I had to pay duties at customs - but no one has contacted me for any kind of payment. Now he is telling me doesn't have permission to update me and I should contact the courier company and ask them to make contact. The US Post office will not help me with that. Do you have any suggestions at all?
