Sending a letter to Ireland from china.

I want to send a single letter to Ireland. Can you please advise on the following.
Do i need to fill out any forms at China Post to send my letter by air mail?
Do i need ID?

If there is any other useful information you can provide it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi john,

Yes, you need to take you ID card to fill out the forms needed at a large China Post office to send you letter by air mail.

If it's sent by air, it takes about 20 days to be delivered.
