Parcel is stuck in Changchun Customs waiting for Duty to be paid but have made no contact with recipient, WHAT TO DO as the parcel is a gift and not very expensive duty may only Y1000

Hi JOHN RICE,

You'd better contact the receiver in China to ask if he has received the notice from the customs. If no, let him check through authorized tax collection system (http://int.ems.com.cn/mailtax) to check and pay.

The recipient have been told by Guangzhou customs that this package will not be released as it is over the duty limit. It contains only Xmas gifts and all separate gifts and values have been specified on the customs declaration forms. Customs are saying that over 1000 yuan needs a customs declaration company to apply for clearance. Surely this is not correct. We just want to pay the duty and get the goods.... not have them returned to the UK. Can you help ?
