Package not being picked up

I ordered an item and it's been due to be picked up for more than a month (for delivery to the US) so I still do not have a tracking number. I've contacted the seller and they just say that EMS hasn't picked it up yet. When will package pick-up resume for EMS?

You should wait until the Corona situation calms down a bit.

But we've been told that in China things have already calmed down (reporting 2 or 3 new cases per day in a country with over a billion people). This is why I'm wondering what's going on.
