Item has being held at Customs

Hi there, I am returning a cloth that I purchased from a website, They offer refunds if I return the merchandise. It have being held at Customs on July 31,would you please tell me how to fix this issue and, is the seller going to pay any fee for that.

Hi Alotah,

It should be waiting for the receiver in China to declare to the customs now. You'd better contact the receiver in China to ask if he has received the notice from the customs. If no, let him check through authorized tax collection system (http://int.ems.com.cn/mailtax) to check.

Why is package still being held in customs in Jinan China (1 reply)

I am attempting to return item that was not what I purchased so I can be refunded appropriately. This item has been held in customs since March 18, 2022. Tracking number is LH164760302US.
What needs to be done to get this processed thru?

Hi, I have posted a return with royalmail, tracking is RY273729484GB. the item is being assessed by the China customs authority for about 2 weeks now. how long are parcel usually held by customs? if there are problems, as duties to be paid, and the seller doesn't take any action, will the parcel be returned to UK? If the item is sent back to UK, am I supposed to pay VAT and duties to receive it back? thanks
