Has the maximum weight limit changed for the UK recently?

Hello,
We have just been told by China Post that we can only ship 20kg to the UK (we want to ship by Surface).
But the limit was 30kg in the past. Has it changed?
Also, we were told that the dimensions are limited by this formula: (Length + 2 x Circumference) = max 3m. But in the past I think it was just (Length + Height + Width) = max 3m. Has this changed?
We are in XinJiang provice, in case that makes a difference?
Thanks!
Patrick

It definitely has changed, at least in some places.
We tried to post our bicycles back to the UK (surface) from HuoErGuoSi (Korgos) on the China/Kazakhstan border and we were told that the computer had a maximum weight limit of 20kg.
So we went to Yining (YiLi) and tried there: same answer - the computer said 20kg. Maybe this is only in Xinjiang, I don't know!
We also were told that we could not use our own boxes. However, the bikes are large so we had to make our own boxes. In the end, they had to be covered in plain brown paper to make China Post happy.
But, after six long days, we have finally posted our bikes to the UK - in two boxes each. The dimensions were 1m x 70cm x 30cm. Was this the maximum size? I don't know. We were told that this was the maximum in HuoErGuoSi, so maybe it is. The maximum weight was definitely 20kg. We had to cover the boxes in brown paper. The total cost was about 1000 yuan per bicycle. They will take about 80 days. I hope they arrive...
If we had known all of this, we could have done it in one day, but it took 5 days to learn the system!!
Good luck fellow cyclists :)

Thank you for sharing your experience. Hope you could get it successfully after two months.
It may differs in Xinjiang Province, I think. You can ask them again.
